The styling is steampunk throughout and the model needs neither batteries nor electronics. The pendulum, the start/stop system and the ratchet key call for extra care during assembly, and the gears and other moving parts should be sanded and waxed so the mechanism runs smoothly. The parts are punched out of the boards and assemble without glue or special tools, with illustrated instructions in the kit. The wood can be left untreated or painted and stained, paint is not included. With 200 parts, around three hours of assembly and an Easy rating the article is an entry point in the range; the package measures 18.7 x 17 x 3.5 cm at 300 grams and ships ten per carton.
