OcCre Adler – German railway pioneer with a historic first route
OcCre Adler is a wooden-metal kit in 1:24 / G-45 scale that recreates the locomotive that completed the first journey on the German railway line between Fürth and Nuremberg on 7 December 1835. The model has a clear place in railway history and captures the transition from horse-drawn transport to steam-powered travel.
For retailers, Adler is an attractive model for customers interested in early locomotives, European industrial history and the origins of railway transport. The locomotive was manufactured by Robert Stephenson & Co. in Newcastle, transported in parts via Rotterdam, the Rhine and overland to Nuremberg, where it was assembled at Johann Wilhelm Spaeth’s workshops.
With 434 parts and around 120 hours of build time, Adler is an accessible intermediate-level project. The short historic 6.04 km route, the locally built wooden coaches and the locomotive’s role as an introduction to railway modelling make it easy to present as a charming and technically important product in the range.
