P-47 Thunderbolt
The P-47 Thunderbolt – affectionately the ’Jug’ – was one of WWII's largest and heaviest single-engine fighters, built around the turbo-supercharged Pratt & Whitney R-2800 and armed with eight .50-calibre machine guns. It was famously rugged, often bringing its pilot home despite heavy damage. Black Horse renders it at a 2260 mm wingspan, built entirely from balsa and plywood and supplied as an ARF with electric retracts.
The airframe is CAD-designed for the right blend of strength and low wing loading, giving forgiving low-speed flight. The included electric retracts feature CNC-machined mechanics and oleo struts, and factory-built parts are covered in durable Oracover with authentic decals, dummy guns and a bomb load.
