Westland Lysander
The Westland Lysander was built as an army co-operation aircraft but found fame collecting and delivering secret agents from France in World War II, thanks to its short take-off and landing ability. The Black Horse version is based on the MkIII and wears the colour scheme of a survivor in the RAF Museum at Hendon, rendered in a 2540 mm span and built from laser-cut balsa and plywood.
With low wing loading and effective flaps, its STOL performance can be used to the full in calm, scale-faithful flight – it is not designed for aerobatics. Supplied factory-built (ARTF) with specially printed heat-shrink film and hand-sprayed plastic and fibreglass parts, plus aluminium main gear and spring-wire tail gear.
