Advanced platform for smart RC systems
The RC8X uses a more advanced architecture than traditional transmitters, built on ARM9 and ARM7 with a 720 MHz main frequency and 32 MB RAM, combining clear display interaction, quick menu handling and stable remote control in one fast, responsive radio system.
4.3-inch full-colour IPS touchscreen
The 4.3-inch full-colour IPS touchscreen has 800 x 480 resolution and a backlight for a clear view of menus, settings and functions with fast navigation, and the narrow bezel and touchscreen interface make the RC8X more modern and easier to use than transmitters with only buttons and small LCDs.
Rich connectivity options
The RC8X has several connections and functions for setup, FPV, simulator use and expansion alike.
- Port for an FPV display holder
- Memory expansion up to 64 GB
- DSC port for the simulator function
- FPV head tracking function
- Support for TBS Crossfire via the DSC port
- USB Type-C for upgrading or power supply
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
DSC port for simulator, FPV head tracking and TBS Crossfire
The DSC port can be set up for simulator use with VRC Pro, CarX and Assetto Corsa Competizione, for FPV head tracking with selectable 3-axis or 2-axis tracking, or with TBS Crossfire when a longer control range is desired.
Stable control with up to 600 metres of range
FHSS spread spectrum technology with 67-channel pseudorandom frequency hopping gives strong interference protection within and between frequency bands, with up to 600 metres of range on the ground under open, interference-free conditions – suitable for off-road, bashing, boating and other applications where a stable signal matters.
Response down to 3 ms
The selectable response time is 14 ms, 4 ms or 3 ms; 14 ms suits an analog servo and 4 ms or 3 ms a digital servo. The 3 ms option needs firmware V1.1.5 or later and the FHSS V2 protocol on the RC8X, and an R8FG receiver with V2.1 marking.
A high degree of customisation
The settings menu, font, desktop, system theme, language and voice prompts can all be customised for a personal user experience without code changes, making the radio flexible for different users, models and driving styles.
Customisable voice prompts
The RC8X supports voice prompts for low transmitter, receiver and model battery voltage, low RSSI and various operating modes, with customisable language, format and content; the 3.5 mm headphone jack lets prompts be heard clearly in noisy environments or used discreetly in quieter ones. A custom voice pack is needed for your own voices, styles, intonations or dialects.
One display with two areas of use
By default the display shows parameter settings in a logical layout, and when an external 5.8 GHz receiver module is connected the upper part can show parameter settings while the lower part acts as an FPV screen.
8 channels for many model types
The RC8X suits many RC cars, boats and robot projects – for example crawlers, drag racing cars, tanks, tracked vehicles, bashers, short course trucks, drift cars, petrol-powered and mini RC cars, monster trucks, off-road cars, sailboats, trimarans, bait boats and remote-controlled life buoys – with 8 channels to control several functions in advanced models.
Multiple languages
The RC8X supports several menu languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Spanish, German, Russian, French, Korean and Polish, and voice prompts can also be customised to several languages. Firmware for several languages is available via the RadioLink firmware page:
https://www.radiolink.com.cn/rc8x_firmware
Several mix functions
The RC8X has 8 groups of programmable mix control, making it flexible for advanced models where several functions need to work together.
- 4WS mixing: Designed for crawlers, logging trucks and other vehicles with four-wheel steering.
- Brake mixing: Makes it possible to adjust the front and rear wheels independently, for example on larger 1/5 cars with petrol drive.
- Tank mixing: Designed for vehicles with twin motors, such as tanks.
- Tilt mixing: Designed for boats where simple parameter setting and smooth control are important.
Built-in real-time telemetry
The RC8X supports telemetry for RSSI, receiver voltage and the model's battery voltage, with RSSI and receiver voltage shown once binding is complete. Model voltage is shown by connecting the cable to the ESC and battery: up to 14S, 58.8 V with the R8FGH and up to 8S, 33.6 V with the R7FG and R8FG.
R8FG receiver with integrated gyro
The included R8FG receivers have an integrated gyro and support for high-voltage servos; the gyro helps the vehicle hold its direction, gives smoother cornering and reduces drift at higher speeds, with sensitivity adjusted via CH8 and controlled by default by the DL1 switch.
Ergonomic and flexible design
The RC8X is designed for comfortable use during longer sessions, with adjustable trigger spring tension and trigger slider, and a wheel that mounts on the left or right side.
- Grip-friendly design for longer driving sessions
- Adjustable trigger spring and trigger slider
- Left-hander-friendly construction with a movable wheel
- A lanyard is included for more comfortable handling
- Memory expansion up to 64 GB
- 32 GB of memory expansion is included according to the documentation
- USB Type-C upgrade online
The FPV display holder and thumb stick are mentioned as accessories in the documentation and are not included in the package.
Several power supply options
The RC8X can be powered with several different battery and power supply solutions.
- 8 AAA batteries
- 2S–4S LiPo battery
- 6S NiMH battery
- Power supply via computer or power bank with a Type-C cable
When powered via Type-C from a computer or power bank, the input voltage must not exceed 5.5 V, and RadioLink's voltage protection software and JST connector help protect components against reverse polarity. A 7.4 V 1700 mAh lithium battery is matched to the battery compartment and is stated to give around 7 hours of standby time.

Good to know
The maximum range is tested in open areas without interference and can vary with the model, installation, antenna placement, surroundings and signal conditions. Response down to 3 ms requires a compatible receiver, the right firmware version and the FHSS V2 protocol, so always check the receiver, model type, channel settings, gyro sensitivity, telemetry and any FPV or DSC function before use; some functions need extra accessories such as an external 5.8 GHz receiver module, an FPV display holder, a thumb stick, TBS Crossfire or an ELRS module.
